Indian Wedding Season 2016: How to dress for the Sangeet party?

Hola Fashionistas!

We know its a really big affair, when it comes to Indian Weddings. And of course looking your best is not an exception, in fact you would see all around you dressed their best! Now that you are here, some reading will do you so much good, cause I know looking different from others can be the tough part if you aren't ready to waste energy, are you?

So here I am to your rescue with some lazy girl tips for Indian weddings, that will make you look dressy while you would be spending absolutely less time, and money of course. Plus I am back with a super gorgeous illustration for you girls! Wedding season is not that close, so get your Master-ji (tailor) to get that customized outfit ready for the sangeet, and rock the party.

Lazy girl's tips for Indian Weddings:

  • Know your forte: You should know what suits you, what makes you look slimmer or taller or curvy. Going with trends is good, but knowing what makes you look yourself is what you want. Cause when you are yourself you are confident!
  • Accessorize: I know too much of it could spoil the game, but its an Indian wedding and the more the merrier (wink*). Opt for the less embroidered attire to balance the bling factor, go for one tone that does the balancing too.
  • Oxidize: This season go for the oxidized jewelery, and ditch your favorite diamonds and gold or platinum for the fact. Oxidized statement pieces instantly makes the outfit complete and it would still be your staple piece for the cocktail party!
  • Try pastels: Its almost like a fact that Indian weddings are about brighter hues, but challenge your wardrobe to include a pastel piece, trust me it would be the best investment for the coming seasons.
  • Customize: Its not important, to buy from your favorite designer every time just cause she knows your choice, try out the local boutiques or trust your imagination to mix some pieces to make something extraordinary!
  • Indian Hand looms: You know whats so excites me about India, its vast collection of materials, try out the banarasi, silk, oak silk, brocade, chanderi, zari and much more. Buying Indian fabrics means supporting the hand looms, and not letting the Indian handicraft become just a memory.

Look Book for the Lazy girl for a sangeet party:

Darker colors are not bold till you accessorize them right, add minimum bling with darker tones. If its embroidered already, go for statement rings and earrings!

The famous Cannes Film Festival attire, just get this one custom made according to your tastes. You could opt for a longer crop top or shorter cape; it looks comfortable as it is!

One more beautiful Outfit on the Bollywood celebrity Sonam Kapoor.
Take the hacks from this fashion diva, just one piece jewelry when the garment is heavily embroidered and if you want to dress formal.

Mint is considered the most safe pastel and I swear by it!

The oxidized pieces here are so understated here, yet so functional!

Illustration of the week:

I remember how much time it took me to design this illustration, phew.
Almost 2 hours, I needed subtle plus bright together, and blingy! The sangeet party includes dance and singing devotional songs, so the attire has to be flexible enough to not constraint you in it. So here comes the design!

This is how could you have gold and silver in one outfit without over doing it!
Mint over powers gold plus supports the silver bling to making it look like a combination beautifully.

Up close, the oxidized jewelry adds less bling even if you want to wear all the pieces you own! ;)

Dried autumn trees was the motif plus inspiration here, and because its fall/winter I have added here heavy drape to add the functional value.

A palazzo with the same intricate embroidery, which is softened with mint net anarkali on it, And large golden border is optional if you are opting for a simpler version of the design.

I added a white and gold flower to match the oxidized jewelry, plus golden heels that complete the outfit!

That's all for the week, do come back next week for more amazing hacks.
